FAQs

The DDR003 Leg Press / Hack Squat from the DDR Series by Dynasty Fitness is a powerful 2-in-1 machine that combines two of the most effective compound leg exercises, the leg press and the hack squat, into one compact, commercial-grade unit. Designed for both high-performance gyms and space-conscious training environments, this dual-function lower body machine allows you to build muscle, enhance athletic performance, and protect your joints all in one station.

Whether you're an athlete working on power output or a fitness enthusiast targeting quad, hamstring, and glute development, the DDR003 offers the versatility, safety, and durability needed to train smarter and harder.

Two Classic Movements. One Intelligent Design.

The DDR003 is engineered to seamlessly shift between leg press and hack squat configurations with minimal effort. By adjusting the back pad angle, footplate, and carriage, users can go from Leg Press to Hack Squat with no tools and no delays.

  • Leg Press Mode emphasizes the quads, glutes, and calves with a controlled, horizontal plane of movement ideal for beginners, advanced hypertrophy, and joint-friendly strength training.

  • Hack Squat Mode simulates a deep squat with back support, encouraging maximum depth and glute engagement while reducing stress on the lower back and knees.

This flexibility allows for training variety and improved muscle targeting without occupying additional space or requiring two separate machines.

Linear Bearings for Smooth Motion

The DDR003 features a durable linear bearing system that allows the carriage to glide smoothly along the guide rods. This ensures friction-free movement during heavy lifts and provides a more natural feel throughout the range of motion.

Compared to traditional plate-loaded sleds, the linear bearings offer enhanced control, reduced wear, and a quieter training experience making it perfect for high-traffic training spaces or private studios.

Built for Safety and Comfort

The machine is designed with the user’s safety and performance in mind. The adjustable footplate offers five angles to accommodate a range of training preferences, ankle mobility levels, and muscular emphasis such as glute-dominant or quad-dominant foot placement.

Sliding handles on each side allow for quick adjustment of the carriage and support easy entry and exit, while thick shoulder and back pads offer complete support under load.

Additional safety highlights:

  • Maximum Training Load: 661 lbs

  • Maximum User Weight: 397 lbs

  • Urethane bumpers protect the frame and carriage during retraction

Reinforced locking pins secure positions with confidence during both modes

Space-Efficient, Commercial-Grade Build

Despite its multi-functionality, the DDR003 maintains a sleek footprint of just 86” (L) × 45.2” (W) × 59.1” (H). Its 331 lb frame is constructed using 1.97” × 0.94” steel tubing, providing maximum stability and strength under heavy use without taking up excessive gym floor space.

Finished in a premium powder-coated steel, the DDR003 is both aesthetically modern and built to last ideal for boutique fitness centers, home gyms, and professional athletic facilities alike.

Part of the DDR Free Weight Series

The DDR Series is crafted for strength-focused environments that demand durability, function, and versatility. Designed with safety-first engineering and space-saving innovation, these machines are perfect for compact commercial gyms, garage gyms, or strength studios looking to deliver big performance in limited space.

Yes. The footplate angle and back support allow for deep-range hack squats with minimal joint stress, making it a great alternative to barbell squats for those with mobility issues.

How does this compare to a traditional leg press machine?

Unlike fixed seated leg presses, the DDR003 uses linear bearing carriage movement, offering more natural range of motion and greater versatility with the hack squat mode built in.

Is the padding comfortable under heavy load?

Yes. The machine features high-density shoulder, back, and seat padding that offers support and comfort, even during max-effort lifts.

Can I train calves on this machine?

Yes. The leg press platform can be used for calf raises, allowing for efficient lower-leg training as part of your workout routine.

Is the machine suitable for rehab or injury prevention?

Yes. The DDR003 offers controlled motion, supported posture, and adjustability, making it a good option for individuals recovering from injuries or with joint limitations.

Can the footplate be adjusted for different training goals?

Yes. The 5-position adjustable footplate allows you to emphasize different muscle groups high foot placement targets glutes and hamstrings, while lower placement focuses on quads.

What’s the maximum amount of weight I can load?

The DDR003 supports up to 661 lbs of training load, giving advanced users plenty of capacity for strength, hypertrophy, and explosive power training.
