Key Features

1.

Hip Thrust Movement Trajectory

The DRE8022's movement arm follows a trajectory engineered to match the hip joint's natural path through horizontal hip extension. The hip thrust is mechanically distinct from squats and deadlifts because the resistance direction is horizontal rather than vertical — the resistance acts against the forward-driving movement of the hip rather than against the upward movement of the body. This horizontal resistance direction aligns with the gluteus maximus's pull direction at the moment of peak hip extension, which is why the hip thrust produces higher glute activation than vertical-loading exercises at equivalent effort levels. The machine's trajectory keeps this alignment consistent through every degree of the hip extension arc.
2.

Semi-Circular Backrest

The backrest follows a semi-circular arc rather than a flat surface. During a hip thrust, the torso angle changes as the hips extend — the upper back rotates upward and the contact point between the back and the support shifts. A flat backrest maintains contact at only one torso angle and creates a gap between the back and the pad as the torso rotates during the extension, which reduces stability and forces the user to adjust position mid-rep. The semi-circular backrest maintains contact with the upper back throughout the full extension arc regardless of the torso angle at any point in the movement, providing consistent support from the bottom of the thrust through to full hip extension at the top.
3.

5+4 Biomechanically Verified Adjustments

The five arm length positions set the horizontal distance between the backrest and the hip roller, accommodating different torso lengths by placing the hip roller precisely at the hip crease of each user. The four starting height positions set the vertical position of the hip roller at the bottom of the movement, accommodating different leg lengths by placing the starting hip angle correctly for each user's proportions. Both adjustment systems were biomechanically verified to ensure that each position combination produces the correct hip joint loading angle for the thrust — meaning the resistance from the Dynasty Flex-Stack acts on the hip through its optimal mechanical advantage position at every setting, not just at the middle position of each adjustment range.
4.

High-Density Memory Foam Hip Roller

The hip roller is constructed with high-density memory foam that conforms to the individual shape of the pelvis and hip crease under load, distributing the contact force across the full width of the pelvis rather than concentrating it at a single contact point. The concentrated pressure of a barbell or a standard round pad is the most common discomfort complaint in hip thrust training and frequently limits working weight or total rep volume. The memory foam roller eliminates this limitation by distributing the load across a larger contact area that adapts to each user's anatomy. The roller stores vertically to allow easy entry into the seated position before training and easy exit after the final set.
5.

Safety Seat and Footplate

The safety seat positions every set to start from a stable seated position rather than from the floor — the entry point that makes heavy barbell hip thrust training uncomfortable and slow to set up. The safety seat's support eliminates the need to lower a loaded barbell to the floor between sets and keeps the user in the machine's movement path for consecutive sets without repositioning. The footplate offers two mounting positions that adjust the foot elevation angle, allowing different hip extension loading variations based on foot height relative to the seat. Both positions are stable under the full stack load throughout heavy pressing sets.
6.

Dynasty Flex-Stack System

The DRE8022 runs on the Dynasty Flex-Stack System, delivering a true 1:1 felt weight ratio through the full horizontal hip extension arc. The resistance is consistent from the starting flexed position through to full extension at the top and back through the eccentric return. This matters specifically at the top of the thrust where the glute is at its shortest and where the isometric peak contraction hold produces the highest stimulus for gluteus maximus hypertrophy — a reduced-resistance cam system would deliver less than the selected weight at precisely this position, cutting short the most productive part of the movement.
