Key Features

1.

Hip Extended Hamstring Training

The prone body position keeps the hip in a neutral-to-extended orientation throughout the curl, which places the bi-articular hamstring muscles — particularly the biceps femoris long head — at their longest effective length at the hip before the knee flexion begins. Because the long head crosses both the hip and the knee, its functional length is determined by both joints simultaneously. The prone position stretches it at the hip, creating the longest possible starting length for each rep and producing the strongest activation signal and the greatest stretch-loaded eccentric stimulus available from any machine curl position. This is the mechanical basis for the prone curl's superior hamstring recruitment profile compared to the seated alternative.
2.

Hip Angle

The angle at which the chest pad and lying surface position the hip during the prone curl was determined through thousands of biomechanical experiments rather than from a standard design convention. This specific angle accomplishes two objectives simultaneously: it places the body in the prone curl position that maximises hamstring activation from the hip-extended orientation, while also minimising the lower back stress that an incorrectly positioned prone curl machine creates when the pad geometry forces the lumbar spine into excessive extension. The thousands-of-tests validation is the documented basis for this being a specifically optimised angle rather than an approximated one.
3.

Upper Handle Adduction Angle

The angle at which the upper handles present the grip to the user during the prone curl was verified through thousands of experiments to find the position that minimises support fatigue in the arms, shoulders, and upper back while the legs perform the curl. In a prone curl, the upper body must maintain a stable braced position throughout the set without active arm muscle involvement — if the grip angle forces the forearms into an awkward position, the upper body stabilisation muscles fatigue before the hamstrings do and cut the set short. The verified handle adduction angle positions the forearms and hands naturally so the upper body brace is passive and the entire effort stays in the hamstrings.
4.

Biomechanically Tested Pivot Point

The curl mechanism pivot was positioned through extensive data sampling and biomechanical testing to align with the knee joint's natural movement axis in the prone body position. The prone position changes the angle at which the lower leg travels through the curl arc relative to the seated position, which means the optimal pivot point for a prone curl is different from the optimal pivot for a seated curl. The DRE8015's pivot was tested specifically for the prone body orientation, ensuring the resistance direction stays aligned with the hamstring's pull direction through the full prone curl arc rather than using a seated curl pivot geometry that diverges from the correct path when the user is lying face down.
5.

Two-System Adjustment Architecture

Seven ankle pad positions and six knee adjustment positions configure the DRE8015 for each user's lower leg length and thigh length independently. The ankle pad telescopic adjustment sets the contact point correctly for different lower leg lengths without creating bone contact at the ankle. The knee position adjustment aligns the machine's tested pivot with each user's knee joint centre in the prone position. Together they provide the same principle of individual custom-fitting to the prone curl that the three-system adjustments deliver to the seated curl machines — ensuring the biomechanically tested pivot produces its correct arc for every user rather than only for users whose proportions happen to match a fixed design point.
6.

Dynasty Flex-Stack System

The DRE8015 runs on the Dynasty Flex-Stack System, delivering a true 1:1 felt weight ratio through the full prone hamstring curl arc. This is particularly relevant at the fully extended starting position where the hamstrings are at their longest and the eccentric stretch-loaded stimulus is at its greatest. The prone position's additional hamstring stretch at the hip — compared to the seated position — makes this starting position even more mechanically productive per rep, and the Flex-Stack System ensures the selected stack weight is fully active at this position rather than reduced through a cam system that reduces resistance exactly where the largest training stimulus would be generated.
