Belt Squat/Dip DSH039
Belt Squat/Dip DSH039
The Dynasty Fitness DSH039 Belt Squat/Dip is a dual-function plate-loaded machine that combines a belt squat platform and a dip station in one unit, covering two of the most effective lower and upper body exercises that no other machine category replicates. The belt squat trains the quadriceps, glutes, and hamstrings through a pendulum hip-joint arc with the load suspended from a belt at the hips rather than placed on the shoulders, making it the only squat variation that is completely free of axial spinal loading. The dip station above trains the triceps and lower pectorals through 180° rotating handles that support multiple grip widths and retract when the belt squat is in use. A five-position single-hand adjustable footplate covers the full range of stance widths and ankle mobility levels, a four-position belt hook system keeps the belt free from machine interference through the full squat arc, and four barbell bars accept Olympic plates up to 661 lbs bilateral. Built from PT60×120×2.5mm steel in matte black at 518 lbs net weight, the DSH039 is built for commercial gyms, performance training facilities, and serious home gym setups where axial-load-free squatting and upper body pressing are both programming priorities from one station.
- Dual-function plate-loaded machine combining a belt squat and a dip station, covering axial-load-free lower body squatting and triceps and lower chest pressing from a single 661 lb bilateral station
- Belt squat pendulum arm follows the natural arc of the hip joint so the squat movement feels free and natural rather than constrained, while the hip-suspended load eliminates all compressive force on the spine from the first rep to the last
- Five-position single-hand adjustable footplate accommodates different stance widths and ankle mobility levels without tools so the footplate angle suits each user's squat mechanics without a setup delay
- 180° rotating dip handles retract when not in use to keep the belt squat area unobstructed, and support grip widths from wide lower chest emphasis through to narrow triceps-focused positions when deployed

Exercises and muscles targeted
Exercises and muscles targeted
| Exercise | Muscles Targeted |
|---|---|
| Belt Squat (standard stance) | Quadriceps (Rectus Femoris, Vastus Lateralis, Vastus Medialis, Vastus Intermedius, primary), Gluteus Maximus (primary), Hamstrings (secondary), Adductors (secondary), Erector Spinae (unloaded - no axial compression) |
| Belt Squat (wide stance) | Adductor Magnus (inner thigh, significantly increased with wide stance, primary), Gluteus Maximus (primary), Quadriceps (secondary), Gluteus Medius (stabiliser) |
| Belt Squat (pause at bottom) | Quadriceps (eliminates stretch reflex, maximum time under tension), Gluteus Maximus, Hamstrings, Adductors (sustained stabiliser load at full depth with zero spinal compression) |
| Dip (narrow grip, triceps focus) | Triceps Brachii (all three heads, primary with elbows tracking close to body), Anterior Deltoid (secondary), Lower Pectoralis Major (secondary) |
| Dip (wide grip, chest focus) | Lower Pectoralis Major (sternal head, primary with wide grip and forward lean), Triceps Brachii (all three heads, secondary), Anterior Deltoid (secondary) |
The belt squat is the only loaded squat variation that places zero compressive force on the spine because the load hangs from the hips via a belt rather than resting on the shoulders or being held in the hands above the centre of gravity. This makes it the only tool for accumulating bilateral squat volume that does not contribute to the cumulative spinal loading that limits total weekly squat volume for most serious strength athletes and powerlifters. The hip-suspended pendulum arc on the DSH039 also keeps the torso more upright through the squat than a barbell back squat, which shifts more of the load toward the quadriceps at standard stance.
