Decline Olympic Bench DRE6006
Decline Olympic Bench DRE6006
- Commercial decline Olympic bench rated to 661 lbs with a fixed -20° back pad built specifically for lower chest pressing mechanics
- Two-height barbell hooks with a short hook design reduce the lift-off arc so the first movement of every set is a clean, controlled press
- 6-position adjustable leg hold-down secures users of different heights into position so the body stays anchored throughout each rep
- Three-level removable safety arms protect solo lifters at the bottom of the movement and store on the uprights when a spotter is present

Exercises and muscles targeted
Exercises and muscles targeted
| Exercise | Muscles Targeted |
|---|---|
| Decline Barbell Bench Press | Pectoralis Major — Sternal Head (lower chest, primary), Pectoralis Minor (secondary), Triceps Brachii (secondary), Anterior Deltoid (reduced involvement vs flat press) |
| Close-Grip Decline Press | Triceps Brachii (all three heads, primary), Pectoralis Major — Sternal Head (secondary), Anterior Deltoid (minimal involvement) |
| Wide-Grip Decline Press | Pectoralis Major — Sternal Head (outer lower chest emphasis), Pectoralis Minor, Triceps Brachii (reduced involvement vs standard grip) |
| Decline Pause Press | Pectoralis Major — Sternal Head (eliminates stretch reflex, maximises lower chest tension), Triceps Brachii, Serratus Anterior (stabiliser) |
| Decline Skull Crusher | Triceps Brachii — Long Head (primary, extended stretch position), Medial and Lateral Triceps heads (secondary), Anconeus (stabiliser) |
The decline press targets the sternal head of the pectoralis major along its lower fibres, which are undertrained on both the flat and incline bench. The -20° angle also reduces anterior deltoid involvement compared to flat pressing, which means more of the load goes directly into the chest rather than being shared with the shoulder. The DRE6006 is most relevant for lifters building a complete three-angle chest programme, competitive bodybuilders targeting lower chest sweep, and strength athletes using decline pressing as a tricep-focused accessory movement.
