7° Angled Smith Machine DRE6030
7° Angled Smith Machine DRE6030
The Dynasty Fitness DRE6030 7° Angled Smith Machine is a precision barbell training station built around a dual-axis linear guide system angled at 7° to match the natural forward-inclined bar path of squats, presses, rows, and deadlifts — producing a more anatomically correct movement than vertical Smith machines that force the bar through a straight up-and-down path the body does not naturally follow. Fourteen racking positions, independent left and right safety stops, a dual band peg system with upper and lower pegs, and eight weight plate storage horns complete a 661 lb capacity commercial Smith machine at 45.2"×88.5"×96.8".
- 7° angled dual-axis guide system tilts the bar path forward to match the natural arc that the barbell follows during squats, presses, and rows — reducing the joint compensation that vertical Smith machines require to keep the body under a bar that does not move the way the body naturally moves under load
- 14 racking positions on hook shafts both short and long cover every starting height from deadlift and bent-over row floor-level positions through to overhead press rack height, with independent left and right safety stops that adjust without interfering with the low starting positions these exercises require
- Dual band peg system covers both ends of the strength curve — upper pegs anchor bands that assist during the bottom of the lift where the bar is heaviest relative to muscle strength, lower pegs anchor bands that add end-range resistance where the muscles are strongest and bodyweight or plate load alone provides the least stimulus
- Eight weight plate storage horns (4 per side) keep all working plates at the machine and out of the lifting zone, with the horns positioned specifically to avoid interference with the barbell path at any of the 14 rack heights

Exercises and muscles targeted
Exercises and muscles targeted
| Exercise | Muscles Targeted |
|---|---|
| Smith Machine Squat | Quadriceps — all four heads (primary — bilateral knee extension under bar load), Gluteus Maximus (primary — hip extension through full squat range), Hamstrings (secondary — hip extension stabiliser), Adductor Magnus (secondary — posterior adductor at depth) |
| Smith Machine Bench Press | Pectoralis Major — Sternal Head (primary — horizontal pressing under guided bar), Triceps Brachii (primary — elbow extension), Anterior Deltoid (secondary), Serratus Anterior (scapular stabiliser) |
| Smith Machine Incline Press | Pectoralis Major — Clavicular Head (primary — incline angle targets upper chest), Anterior Deltoid (increased secondary vs flat press), Triceps Brachii (primary) |
| Smith Machine Overhead Press | Anterior and Lateral Deltoid (primary — vertical pressing from rack height), Triceps Brachii (primary), Upper Trapezius (secondary — scapular elevation at lockout) |
| Smith Machine Bent-Over Row | Latissimus Dorsi (primary — horizontal pull with bar anchored to guided path), Rhomboids, Middle Trapezius (primary — scapular retraction), Biceps Brachii (secondary), Rear Deltoid (secondary), Erector Spinae (lumbar stabiliser) |
| Smith Machine Deadlift | Erector Spinae (primary — lumbar extension under load), Gluteus Maximus, Hamstrings (primary — hip extension), Quadriceps (primary — knee extension from floor), Upper Trapezius (secondary — bar hold), Forearms (grip) |
| Smith Machine Romanian Deadlift | Hamstrings (primary — hip-hinge movement emphasises hamstring eccentric stretch), Gluteus Maximus (primary), Erector Spinae (secondary — lumbar hold through hip hinge) |
| Smith Machine Lunge | Quadriceps (primary — front leg knee extension), Gluteus Maximus (primary — front leg hip extension), Hamstrings (secondary), Hip Stabilisers (reduced vs free-weight lunge — bar path provides lateral stability) |
| Smith Machine Calf Raise | Gastrocnemius (primary — plantar flexion under bar load with straight knee), Soleus (secondary), Tibialis Anterior (stabiliser during lowering) |
The 7° angle of the DRE6030's guide system is what makes its exercise variety superior to a vertical Smith machine. The 7° forward tilt means the bar path moves naturally with the body's centre of mass as it shifts forward during squats and backward during rows — matching the path a free barbell would follow rather than forcing the body to compensate for a mechanically vertical bar. The independent safety stops allow low starting positions for deadlifts and bent-over rows without the stops being in the way, expanding the exercise library beyond what vertical Smith machines with fixed-height safety systems cover.
